Jennifer James, also known as, Jenn is an elementary school teacher for the Palm Beach County School District. She first discovered she had a love for teaching when she signed up for a future teachers program in high school to get her out of debate class. From there her passion for teaching blossomed. While in high school she worked at a local childcare center as an after care teacher and knew that there was more to this field than “making kids do their homework”. Throughout college she taught as a pre-school teacher. Even though she really enjoyed teaching ABC’s, 123’s, and finger painting she decided that elementary students suited her best. She graduated college with her bachelor’s in elementary education K-6 and a certificate in Exceptional Student Education. From there her passion for teaching finally became her career.
Throughout her teaching career she has had the amazing experience of volunteering as a coach for the Florida Special Olympics. This experience was one of the most rewarding experiences.
Besides educating children Jenn has always loved her fur babies. As a kid she always had a few pets at a time. When RSRL approached Jennifer about joining them in redeeming dogs and people she knew this was right up her alley. She knew being able to educate the public and working with dogs was a perfect marriage for her.
